Bob L. Ring
In Memoriam
It is with great sadness that we mourn the loss of our friend and colleague, Attorney Bob Ring. Bob was a leading light in the legal community in Northern Colorado, and his law office, Ring & Associates, P.C., was the largest firm representing clients in workers' compensation cases in Larimer County. Throughout his career, he worked to treat clients with compassion and dignity, and he never stopped advocating for their interests and fighting to make sure they achieved justice.
Attorney Darby Hoggatt and Bob Ring attended law school together at the University of Wyoming from 1992 to 1995. After graduation, Bob moved to Colorado and began working for John Hoyman, a workers' compensation attorney, and Mr. Hoyman eventually helped Bob set up his own law firm in Fort Collins. While Bob and Darby were attending a wedding of two law school classmates in 1999, Bob offered Darby a job. Darby began working for Bob as an associate attorney, and Bob trained Darby on John Hoyman's system, which Darby still uses to this day.
Bob and Darby became partners and formed Ring & Hoggatt, P.C. After working together for several years, Darby chose to open his own law firm, Hoggatt Law Office. P.C. Bob and Darby remained close friends and colleagues in the subsequent years, regularly referring cases to each other and spending time together along with their families.
A year before his passing, Bob Ring named Darby Hoggatt the successor to his law firm. Following Bob's death on November 15, 2021, Hoggatt Law Offices, P.C. has taken over legal representation for many of Bob's former clients. Our attorneys are proud to continue Bob's work, and we will be working to provide high-quality services for his firm's existing clients and offering legal representation in personal injury and workers' compensation cases.
Bob Ring graduated from the University of Wyoming with a political science degree, and the University of Wyoming College of Law with a Juris Doctorate Degree. After law school, he joined the John Hoyman Law Office, a small firm in Greeley. He assisted the firm in winning more money for their clients than any other in Northern Colorado, and he did so by consistently handling cases efficiently and by exceeding the standards set by the community.
After establishing Ring & Associates, P.C. in 1999, Bob worked to provide the same level of compassion and experience to clients, and the firm grew to be the largest workers’ compensation firm in Larimer County. Throughout his career, he remained focused on representing clients in workers’ compensation and personal injury cases. Bob was passionate about getting clients the justice they deserve, and he worked to provide every client with a level of personal attention that is uncommon in firms of a similar size and caliber.
Bob lived in Northern Colorado with his wife and five children, and he was an active member of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association (CTLA). He was happy to be part of the welcoming Northern Colorado community, and he loved being able to take advantage of all that Colorado has to offer. He will be sorely missed, but our firm hopes to continue his work, preserve his legacy, and continue providing dedicated legal help to those who need it.
